innovation mistake
Recently, Cheney received an e-mail from Cheney's colleague which was an article talking about the 'Knowledage is not the power, but innovation is.' To be honest, Cheney quite doubt this.....cause from Cheney's view, innovation still needs your knowledage, isn't it ? Again, an non-scense article resulted from a bumptious CEO told a stupid reporter .....
However, this reminded Cheney that an article on Harvard Business Review. It was talking about the innovation mistake. It said that many innovations fail because consumers irrationally overvalue the old one and companies overvalue the new one.
Don't beleive Cheney ? Let Cheney gives you an example. Segway scooter, the vehicle Present Bush falling down, sold a mere 6,000 units in the 18 months after it launch, a far away from the 50,000 to 100,000 units it predicted. So, why they failed.... Harvard Business Review revealed a 'the 9x effect' explaining what happen about the different thinking between customers and companies. It said that there is a fundamental problem for companies that expect consumers to embrance innovations. While the companies are already sold their products and see them as essential, consumers are reluctant to part with what they have. This confict results in a mismatch of nine to one between what innovators believe consumers want and what consumers truly desire.
so from the above graph, can you imagine the fail of your company's innovation ? ha ha....
of course, there is a solution to avoid this, to find the answer....he he...please read the magazine la..... we all need read more, right ? PS. hope Cheney's colleagues do not read this article... especially the RD, PM department....... ha ha
